Having a Turkey Baby (:

EDD is Tuesday November 29.  Induction was originally scheduled for this day due to GD.  Had another ultrasound yesterday and baby girl is measuring 8lbs 14oz!!  Doc decided to schedule a C-Section for Thanksgiving morning (she is on call). . .

So beyond excited to have an outside baby but hadn't seriously considered the possibility of a c-section (whoops?!) and am very anxious.

Does my hospital bag need to look any different now?  Also, what did you wear during your hospital stay?  I have a nightgown but also packed yoga pants but now am wondering if they should stay behind.  Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

  • I didn't use a third of the things I packed for my cs. I chose to stay in a hospital gown the entire time because it was just more comfortable. I brought yoga pants to wear home and even those were a little tight on the incision area. So if you do chose to wear your own pants while you are there, just make sure you  can wear them at your belly button. Also make sure the underwear you have for pp is not bikini cut. I got the Hanes serious granny panies that hit at he belly button.

  • Did your doc schedule a c-section because of a 'big baby'? My lo is due Friday and at my 36 week appt he was measuring 7lb 2oz on the sono....so if he gains the ounce a day he is probably around 8 lbs 5 oz at least right now and it's not even my due date. The sonos are almost always over what the actual weight is as well. My doc won't induce until 41 weeks for a FTM. Women are more than capable of delivering babies in that weight range...did you argue against the section since it doesn't seem like you want one?

  • I had an emergency c-section, so I didn't really pack for one.  the one thing that surprised me (and it may be because my c-section was unplanned) is how bloated I am.  I actually think I gained weight because of all of the fluids they had to give me.  Bring comfy, stretchy clothes.  I am wearing a loose skirt and a nursing tank.  This will probably be my uniform for awhile.
