Total FTM question: Contact lenses during delivery?

Were you allowed to keep your contact lenses in during delivery?!!? I haven't even thought to ask. I really do NOT want to have to wear my glasses for delivery, but do want to see. Just wondered if the hospital even asks or makes you take them out?

I wore mine and they never asked. Maybe it would matter if they put you under general anesthesia? I'm not sure.

I put mine in before i started pushing so I could see my LO. They never said anything.

My mom is an L&D nurse and I literally asked her this yesterday! She said contacts were fine but have glasses/contact case near by in case they have to be taken out quickly for an emergency (like needing general anesthesia).

I was also dreading having to wear my glasses, its just not as comfortable for me.

I'm so glad you asked this, I had the same question! I am hoping to wear mine but will definitely keep my glasses handy just in case.

I was able to wear them. I think the only time you can't is a C-Section, but I might be wrong.

Wonderful question!! It's good to know, since I literally LIVE in my contacts - I even have a brand you can sleep in and wear for an entire week before having to take them out!!

I will take my glasses with me JIC, but all plans are to leave the contacts in!

GREAT question, thanks for asking it! I've been wondering since before I was even pregnant hahaha. I'd like to keep my contacts in - i don't see well with glasses and I hate what I look like.
