because i can't take this anymore. it's gotten so bad in the last few days, that i am choking on my acid and not sleeping at night. zantac, tums, and pineapple enzyme has no effect. my only hope is baby dropping to create more space.
I don't know, I was told by my Dr that I've "dropped" but I'm still battling heartburn everyday. I'm a bit on the shorter side, though at 5'4", so maybe I just don't have much room anyway.

I don't know for sure as I just dropped yesterday, but I was having constant heartburn and it would get tons worse after certain foods. I have not had heartburn since yesterday and I have had milk twice and pizza which were usually the worst heartburn. I didn't really think about it at the time, but mabye thats the reason it's better.

It should but I'm not one of the those lucky ones so can't tell you for sure. For some the relief doesn't come until labor.
I've been suffering from GERD too, the only way I got relief was to stay away from trigger food, not eating past 8pm and sleeping sitting up for the 1st half of the night. Not doing any of those things makes for crappy sleeping for me.
I don't know, but I've been carrying this one lower than I carried DD (I don't think she ever dropped), and I've had a lot less heartburn, so that would make sense.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
theoretically, I think it's supposed to. I've been carrying pretty low though and I can't say I've noticed a change in my heartburn (it has been mild the whole time though).
Mine did a bit. I was getting brutal heartburn from about 30-35 weeks. Then baby dropped and it went away mostly...but it comes back big time if I bend over to pick up something off the floor, or if I eat just that little bit too much. Tums helps though now.
I don't remember dropping giving me any relief with my first pregnancy. I tried Prilosec, Zantac, and Pepcid and tons of Tums none of them worked. This time around I'm taking Prevacid and it's working like a dream (it wasn't OTC when I was pregnant before & insurance company jerks wouldn't allow it)! Still feel the reflux but no pain.
Re: does heartburn improve after dropping?
Supposedly, but mine didn't at all. It just graduated to severe, "wake me up gagging" acid reflux. So gross and painful.
I don't go near tomatoes, acidic fruit, juices or anything delicious with a ten foot poll.
