Things are getting better

Hi Ladies. I know y'all aren't sitting around waiting for updates from me but I'm just having a hard time letting go of this board! Ex finally got his head out of his a$$ and invited me to R's birthday party last weekend. I got to see the kids, his family, meet C's little boyfriend (13) and kind of get some closure. I didn't get really emotional with the kids at the party but it was a good opening to let me text with each of the kids later that night and talk to them individually (did the birthday girl have fun, C's boyfriend is a cutie, etc). That was when I got to tell them that they could always text or call if they needed anything. It felt good to see them having fun and I feel like I can now let them drive the relationship. I just wanted to let all of you know that we are all finding closure.

I, in the meantime, am focusing on me! I've started back to my gym routine, am joining a service/social organization in town, reconnecting with old friends and focusing on making new ones. The idea of dating makes me a little ill right now and I think that's for the best. I'll probably still post updates and let you all know how I'm doing and weigh in if I have anything to share. I'm glad you got some closure with the kids. I think focusing on yourself if the right things to do. Putting dating on the back burner (for now) is a good idea. Good luck to you!
