My ID twin boys share a placenta but have separate sacs. We are being closely watched for TTTS and when they last measured them at 16 weeks there was a 16% size discrepency. I feel like each U/S we hold our breath until we know things look okay. I need some reassurance that things will go well and that even with the size difference (and amniotic fluid difference) that things will be okay. The perinatologist said that we have to just "wait and see" that things progress okay. What has your experience been?

Re: Mono/di twin mamas come in please!
I know how you feel. I was always on edge before my u/s. If you are being watched closely for TTTS that is great. I don't think most Dr.'s become concerned about size difference until it reaches above 20% or one is in the 10 percentile or less. Since you are being monitored, hopefully your Dr. will pick up on any complications early. With my twins the concerns started happening at 22 weeks. I won't lie, it was horribly scary, stressful, and the hardest thing I've been through but in the end it I got 2 healthy babies. There are plenty of other mo/di moms on here who sailed through their pregnancies with little to no complications.

I'm also being monitored closely. One of the babies just recently fell under the 10th percentile, so we've started biophysical profiles every other week. I've been having, and will continue to have, growth checks bi-weekly. The doctors said that as long the size discrepancy remains fairly constant, both babies should be fine.
I hope you have a healthy, complication-free pregnancy.
The size discrepancy between our girls varied during the pregnancy, but never got to a worrisome level. (There was one u/s I was worried about, but my peri set my mind at ease.) Our girls were born weighing 6lbs4oz and 6lbs13oz.
I have mo/di girl but never had any size discrepencies. I hope everything goes well!
I'm having mono/di boys and we've been very lucky that they have been measuring either the same or within a day or two of each other.
GL with your LO - wishing you an uneventful and healthy rest of your pg.
ETA: I am nervous at the beginning of every MFM appt and usually don't relax until its over. I am also being monitored for TTTS and having cervical checks (via u/s) since I have a history of PTL.
