My husband and I really want a front facing baby carrier but I don?t know which one is the best. We were planning on getting a baby bjorn but some people have suggested that they are not good for the baby. I?ve heard of Beco but I don?t know much about their product or maybe Britax?? Somebody please help! I know that the Ergo is great but I really want a front facing carrier. Suggestions anyone???
Re: Help with front facing carrier
Can I ask why you want a front facing carrier?
Just as an fyi, it's much better for the baby to be parent-facing. If they are facing out they can easily get overstimulated, and if they want to be shy or get cozy with you, they can't.
FWIW I had a Bjorn and loved it until she hit about 14 pounds (the first 3-4 months) and then I bought an Ergo and LOVE that thing. When I have another baby I will use the Bjorn again when they are really little, and then the Ergo again when they are over 14 is pounds.
Front facing carriers are also worse for your pelvic floor muscles because of the changes they cause in your posture.
In other words, they encourage you to pee yourself.
I like my Ergo and my mei tai. I'm getting a ring sling for taking DS to and from the car this winter. No front-facing for me. There are so many great more ergonomic for me and baby options out there.

Like most of the PP's I'd strongly encourage you to try inward-facing first.
That said, the Beco Gemini and Pikolo (I probably butchered that spelling) are both much better options for outward facing than the Bjorn because they allow LO to sit with fabric spread knee to knee in a pocket vs. dangling from his or her crotch. They also allow you to face baby into you or be worn on your back.
Check out the Beco Gemini and the Catbird baby Pikkolo. Both carriers allow baby to face forward and are better designed than the Bjorn (I found the Bjorn to hurt my back but I also had a bigger baby).
Also, you can use a ring sling (like the Maya Wrap) and baby can face mostly forward.
