So, this month, the day after AF arrives, I get a phone call from a dear friend. We talk about upcoming plans and she mentions, BTW - we're pregnant with #2. Baby is due days after my 39th b-day.
So this Friday we had dinner and caught a show (the plans that we discussed on the call - nice girls night out - yay!). She had a "gift" waiting for me when I arrived. I know she is trying to be supportive and encouraging - must keep reminding myself of that. So, when she thought she was PG, she went out and bought a 3 pack of PG tests - she said she thought she would jinx it if she bought just one. They had been trying for 2 months with no luck (mostly because finding time to do it with a toddler is hard), so she got an OPK, got a smiley face, did the deed that day, and presto, she got PG (she got PG on the first month of trying for her now 18-month old). So, her "gift" was the 2 unused tests and said she hoped I needed them soon and got the great result she did. I appreciate her well wishes, but man was it a bummer to hear how easy it was for her (again).
