I've had nothing but problems with my supervisor. She tells me all the time how her stomach is turning just by thinking about me being gone, how stressful and AWFUL it will be, she gives me a hard time when I have to go for my doc appointment and calls me at home if I'm sick. And no this is not her telling me how valuable I am or anything like that!!

I've tried to tell her that she's stressing me out by making those comments all the time but she's not getting it and just continues with it.

I spoke to HR but was kind of blown off or advised to try and handle it myself. Which in a way I also know is better b/c otherwise it will be that much harder for me to continue to work with this person. She takes everything personal and I've seen what issues other people have with her if they are on her "S" list...

Now I already said that I need to keep my stress level down and told her that I won't be driving to our warhouse in December when I"ll be almost 35 weeks. The reason for that is that I would have to get up at 3.30am, drive for over 2 hrs, work full day and then drive back. I'm concerned b/c I struggle with sleep anyway and I"m having trouble with backpain. She agreed that I should stay and she would go instead (she knows all the stuff as she used to have my job)

Then last week she decided that I need to come with her and basically left me no choice. And the only reason she is doing it is so she doesn't have to take the responsibility. It's hard to explain (it would be a very long story) but it is not necessary for me to go and she can absolutely handle it all only she won't.

She also keeps asking all the time if I knew if I would go into labor early or if we can plan on me being here until my due date as she will be gone from mid December through mid January. Mind you, we are in finance and she's taking off leaving me ALL ALONE for month and year end AND audit preparation!!! And she even scheduled a part of the audit in mid December for me to handle so she wouldn't have to.

So she is just pulling my last nerve and I don't want to go on this trip on top of everything else she has me doing b/c she won't step up and do her job.

So do I talk to HR again, do I talk to my doc who said to keep her posted as she may put me on a short leave should this craziness continue...

  • I would definitely talk to your doctor and see if they can get you a document that restricts travel and/or see if they can take you out early...
    Sorry your sup. is an irresponsible terd.  I have one too.

    This. That way she can't flip out on you when its Drs orders. And make sure HR gets a copy of this note too. Cover all your bases.

  • Do we work for the same company??  My friend who was pregnant last year went through the same exact thing with her boss at month/year end closing, she wasn't due until March but still!!  I agree talk with your Doc, they have to listen to that!  Good Luck and keep us posted, want to know how it works out for you.

  • Talk to HR again and tell them that you've been unable to resolve anything directly with her.
