I used name brand with DD, and I feel horrible doing this, but formula for two boys is so expensive. The boys are currently on Enfamil Gentlease ($25 for 22 oz), and Sam's club makes a generic version of the formula ($14.88 for 48 oz). You get almost twice the formula for half the price, so I'm considering it.
My Dr. said that generic formula is regulated by the FDA and it's fine, but I'm reading many babies tend to be gassier on the generic versions. One of my boys is really gassy, so I'd hate to make it worse. Anyone using this generic formula? What about any other generic formula? What are your thoughts?

It can never hurt to try! Just make sure to have your regular formula on hand until you know the generic works for your babies
I'm all for generic brands if the quality is similar.
We used the Kirkland brand from Costco. My boys never seemed to have any issues with it. It really does save money when you compaare it to name brand ones.
Good luck!
We actually use the Up and Up Target brand of the Gentlese, and we couldn't be happier. When we switched from Enfacare I felt like it was time to try the Target brand, because I was afraid if we didn't, we never would.
The price definitely makes it a lot easier!
SLPMel- how much is the target brand of Gentlease, and how many ounces? The sam's club version is 48 oz for $21.98, which is the best deal I have been able to find.
We used generic mostly. Like your Dr. said, formula is regulated so it all has the same minimum requirements in it. As far as being gassier, I've heard that but my guys didn't have an issue. Personally I'd try the generic and if it doesn't work then you know. Heck, even if it works for 1 and not the other, use it for the one it does work for, it'll still save you tons even if you have to buy name brand for 1.
ETA: To make the transition even easier we mixed 1 generic can with 1 name brand can the first time.
I got 36 oz for $16.99 (but it was on sale and they have a $1 off coupon).
You can order it online right now for 144 oz for $75.70.
So I think yours is better!!!
