Looks like I'm joining you ladies

I am still in a bit of shock and I guess we have some time to figure everything out. We are both very excited to have our LO's so close in age. DH was an only child so he is really looking forward to them having something he didn't. But how on earth does anyone afford this? I mean we will certainly just have to cut back in the short term on any extravagance. But are there any good suggestions that have helped you/your family.

    Congrats!  Use the sales on diapers etc and stock up when you can. Also plan weekly meals around what's on sale. My favorite diapers are the wegmans brand, target for the not major brands. but i also use bj's formula and just got 204 luvs diapers for 26 dollars there.

    I also use the shop at home at my local grocery store and it  helps me stay on a budget and avoids the impulse buys etc. they do charge 10 to shop for you, but in my book its worth it.

    Congratulations! It is fun having them close together. The only way we can afford it is for me to be a SAHM. We've found ways to keep our expenses minimal. We don't have cable/satellite tv. We only have a prepaid cell phone. Our special meals out are usually McDonalds. We bought a major fixer-upper and did all the work ourselves. We've managed to keep our expenses down a lot and are still able to put money away into savings.

    Congrats! It's great having LO's close in age! We save money by me being a SAHM, we don't have cable either, but we have internet to watch shows on. We recently switched to Up & Up diapers (Target brand) and we love them! We are also using Up & Up wipes. I try to cook meals with ingredients in our house a lot and I also try to meal plan. We have a strict budget for food shopping. Also, we don't eat out a lot at all.

    DS is throwing us for a loop though and is requiring expensive formula that we can't use generic for. Not sure where that fits in the budget, but it will work out eventually... I hope! 

    SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
