Can we all collectively agree that when our beautiful baby boys grow up to be men and then one day marry that we won't be that awful MIL? The ladies with daughters I'm sure would appreciate :)

    I'm pretty easy going with people so it shouldn't be a problem, but I hope to god that he picks someone that I like. It would make it much easier :)

    YES! I hope the experience with my MIL will make me a better one some day. I tell my sweet baby all the time that I hope I won't be a bad MIL.

     speaking of...my MIL and FIL went home today after visiting for a week, yippee!!!

    Ehh... there's a good chance I'm going to be a nut job.

    If he winds up with a great girl then I'll be fine, but god help them both if he winds up with anyone who's materialistic or has no sense of humor or who takes advantage of him or who thinks Jaws sucks- then we'll have problems. I'll be the snarky biitch mil who "just won't let go!" and I'll get talked about on the bump.

    My SIL is best friends with one of her neighbors.  The neighbor has a daughter that is the same age as one of my nephews.  The moms all call them boyfriend and girlfriend.  I hate the little girl and hate the mom, too.  It's totally irrational; nobody's good enough for my nephews.  God help my son and his future women.

     

    I don't literally hate them, I just get irrationally defensive when they sign the kids up to do things together.  I'm gonna be BSC by the time my boys are ready to be married.

    I want to try to be like my Grandma R instead of my MIL. My MIL hated me from the start because I was taking her baby. Since STBX has said he wants to divorce, she has been nice to me. Go figure....

    I hope to baby Jesus that I never end up as bad as my MIL...but then again, I dont think anyone could be as bad as her.  She has made some efforts to be kinder towards me since I had Logan but I still dont trust that she may snap again one day.

    I think will just have to marry him off to a friend's daughter.

    I think i am very nice easy going person and i am sure the girl he chooses to be with will be wonderful and i would love to treat her as my own daughter. but if she is a nut job then she has another thing comin...lol

    I have a girl, but wanted to participate because I'll be (hopefully) someone's MIL too! My mom is pretty cool with my hubby and is very hands off so that is how I want to be. My MIL on the other hand is nuts. She doesn't understand that her son is almost 30 and has a life. She calls him EVERYDAY and CRIES if he doesn't answer the phone. She also has this totally annoying habit of repeating phrases when she is not happy with you. If she doesn't like what you are doing "oh good, good" or "i see, i see". Lady you are a nut ball!

    I'm so glad to see the direction this thread went in.  My MIL was pretty awful to me for no reason, and she's apologetic for it now.  And I remember how it sucked.  And it sucked for my H too, poor guy.

    But I don't see myself being much better.  He's MY BAAAAABY!!!! ;)

    Just the other day I was saying that this year alone, among my group, 8 babies have been born: 5 girls and 3 boys (including mine). 1 boy and 1 girl are DS's cousins, but thats 4 other potentials :)
