christmas gift for college babysitter

The girl who babysat/nannied for us this past summer was awesome with DDs and did housework, etc. for me. I was so sad to see her leave, but alas she went out of state to college. Her parents live not too far from us and I know she'll be back for Christmas break. I'd like to take her a little gift of some kind. Also, her mom was just diagnosed with cancer about a month ago, so I really wanted her to know we're thinking of her. Any ideas? She goes to a Christian college, likes to cook,......??? I'd kind of like to pick something out for her vs. a gift card, but WDYT? I'm looking to stay in the $25-35 range.

Re: christmas gift for college babysitter

  • How about some cute pj pants from AE or similar?  College kids always need comfy lounge pants!  So sad about her mom. Sad

  • Can you order a sweatshirt from her college website? That was my favorite thing to wear when I was in college. Maybe a basket of essential supplies for college: coffee, snacks, pens and a phone card to keep in touch with mom (or stamps).
  • I'm getting our sitter either jammies or a nice shirt. She would love either but is getting ready to start interviewing soon so I know she will need to build up her wardrobe. (gift receipt included just in case).

I like the comfort package idea as well. May come in handy!
