1st Trimester

I am so broken out that my face hurts!

I am not prone to acne at all - normally I get one zit a month just before my period.  Now that I am pregnant I my chin is so broken out that it hurts!  I switched from my usual face scrub to pHisoderm so hopefully that will help.  I know its all worth it but does anyone have any tips so that I don't feel like I have leprocy?

  • Same thing happened to me! My forehead is covered!! it's gross!!

My doctor recommended using facial products with salyic acid and said they're fine and quite a few over the counter products are safe as well.

I'm trying the Burt's Bees stuff right now and so far, I think it's keeping it all at bay.  I had a similar post and many women seemed to recommend it.  One of the best things is that the have "all natural" product lines

  • Couldn't agree more, I look like a teenager!  And they are painful!  I talked to me doc yesterday and she said over the counter products are fine to use.
  • I know exactly how you feel, I went through this with my second pregnancy, I ended up on accutane after I stopped nursing.  I hated going out and would cry all the time, I was so embarrassed.  Sometimes its just hormones and there isnt much that can help.  Ask your Dr too, there may be some help for you.

  • I have deep cyst acne which is so gross, now with me being pregnant I have smaller cyst everywhere my back and near my boobs and in my chin. I use skinlaboratory (online only) and just dab that salicylic acid solution in my back and my chest. However I heard that salicylic acid is not good when you are pregnant so I'm not sure about this, but I keep continuing using mine since my acne hurt so bad. I'm going to ask my doctor if its safe, whenever I have my first appointment.

  • I have been breaking out a ton. In fact, that was most likely my first symptom of pregnancy but I didn't know yet. I have been getting pimples on my arms and back which I have never had. It's awful.

  • You are not alone. I use Mary Kay for oily skin and it works decently. I'm gonna try the burt's bees when this stuff is gone as I see a lot of others promote its effectiveness....
