zofran?

This nausea/vomiting is kicking my a**. I think I've tried every tip and trick there is, but in the last 2 weeks, I've lost 9lbs (not that I can't afford to lose it, but you know...)

My doc called in a zofran prescription,  which I'm going to go get ASAP, but I just wanted to get feedback from those of you who have taken it.

Any side effects? I commute to San Antonio almost every day and I rather not be a zombie in the car (though maybe it's better than puking the whole way??).

Anyway, does it make you sleepy?

Re: zofran?

  • No drowsiness at all, but chase it with some colace because it can make you super constipated.

  • it doesnt make you the least big drowsy. it might constipate you a bit, but you can take some miralax to combat that.

hope youre feeing better soon. nothing is worse than nausea and vomiting.

  • I know how you feel and it SUCKS!

I have absolutely no side effects from Zofran. I have heard people say that it constipates them, so be careful for that, I guess.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  • Thanks ladies! I've never been so excited to take meds!  I was bad the first time, but I still wasn't ready for this.

Did you guys just take it here and there when you were feeling bad or on a schedule?

  • Aww, you poor thing! I hope they kick in fast for you. I've been taking them and the only side effect has been constipation. It did get pretty bad there for a couple days. It seems to help me to drink some black coffee in the morning. GL! :)

  • Definitely did not make me drowsy and ditto regarding the constipation.  I will say though for me that the zofran just took the edge off and kept me from puking (which is a definite plus!), though it never really got rid of the nausea like the fenegren (sp?) did at night time.
  • and I hope you feel better soon.  It SUCKS to be that sick AND have to drive that much AND take care of another kiddo AND try to function normally.  Hang in there - it will be behind you before you know it -hopefully!
