Graco Infant Car Seat

If you have a Graco Infant car seat how long are you planning to keep DC in it before moving to convertible....The weight limit is 30 lbs or 1 year.  DS is about 20lbs right now but is pretty long.  I want to keep his infant seat at our sitters (he will be going to this sitter until 1 year old) instead of buying a 3rd convertible but don't want to do this if it's unsafe or just weird.  WDYT?

    My Graco one only goes up to 29 inches and DD has passed that. I would check on that too!

    You should check that... I have a Chicco and its good to 30 pounds OR 30 inches.  i will keep her in that until one of those is exceeded...

    I beleive it is 30 lbs OR one year.  Also their head has to be at least one inch from the top and their feet cannot hang over the end - otherwise it is unsafe

    The length limit is as important as the weight. Ours is 29" I think. We'll hopefully keep him in the infant seat until he's outgrown it or close to it...or he gets way too heavy to carry around in the carrier!

    Which Graco do you have?  Snugride or SafeSeat?  That would make a difference in what is safe.

     We have the SafeSeat which goes up with 30lb and 30in (I think).  We moved her out at 7mo when she was probably 17-18lb and 27".  She was still perfectly safe in it but it got to the point where she was too heavy for me to carry.  She also wanted to sit up more and a convertible carseat allowed her to do that.

    Def. check the height requirement too! DC will probably hit that before the weight limit. I stopped using it when DD was too heavy to lift in it anymore

    Safe seat is 30lbs or 32", there is no age limit.  We plan to keep DD in there until meets one of those or we have another child.  At this rate, she'll be in there until our next child is born (I'm not currently pregnant).

    about a week ago we moved him to rear facing convertible seat.  He's 20 lbs. 

    He screamed every time we put him in his infant seat.  Now he gets to sit up and look around, he loves it.

    We moved DD a month or so ago. She hated being in the infant seat. She doesn't love the convertible seat either, but she doesn't loathe it the way she did the other one.
