Dh called me from our weight watchers meeting wanting to know how much longer it would be till I got there. I was stuck in traffic and could hear my sweet DS wailing. He was trying to get a bottle ready and had spilled the bottle of water I keep in the diaper bag. He didn't want to leave DS to go to the bathroom for more water.
There were a number of ladies in line to weigh in at weight watchers. DH said that several of them made comments like, "When I had a baby that age, I always had a bottle ready." Poor DH, he was doing the best he could. Could ONE of those ladies give him a hand instead of just watching him struggle? Could one of them offer to go to the next room and get water for him? ![]()
To be fair, one did offer to watch DS while DH went to the other room. Um, no, lady. I'm sure you're a nice person but we don't know you. In hindsight, DH could have taken DS to the bathroom with him, but a screaming baby in public is a stressful situation and he didn't think of it. I got there and quickly got a bottle fixed. Poor DH. He's so hands on and a fantastic daddy. He was trying.
Moral of the story...help the frazzled mommy or daddy. Don't stand there judging. And keep your comments to yourself.
