Question about Born Free bottles

We were using the 5oz Smooth Flow bottle& I sent DH out to buy more. He came home with the 5oz Active Flow. I believe they both came with level 1 nipples. Anyone know the difference between the two? My sis in law says DS is taking in too much air when eating because of the "gulping" noise he makes. Formula also drips put of 1 side of his mouth. Do I change the bottle, nipple or the flow or neither?
