5 wks and BV infection

in 1st Trimester
Hi, sorry for the TMI but I just found out that I am 5 weeks and I have a bad BV infection. My doctor won't see me till I'm eight weeks and it's making me nervous. I am also on medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis and I thought the first trimester was really important. The nurse told me not to stop taking any meds till my appt. but I know 2 are not safe for pregnancy. What should I do?

    Im confused, they are refusing to see you for the infection???  Really it has little to do with the pregnancy if you kwim, to make you wait 3 weeks for treatment for an infection pregnant or not is not ok!  You need to call and be clear your making an appointment for the infection NOT the baby.

    Have you contacted the doctor you see for your RA? I'd go that route since your OB/GYN isn't helping. That doc can at the very least help you with which meds to take/not take for your RA, and maybe see you for the BV.

    That sounds weird for me if you are 5 weeks along with BV infection and you are also on medications they should have agree to see you early, I know on mine, my appointment is not until I'm 9 weeks but my chart are clear and when I called my doctor that was the first thing the nurse look at, my chart, she said that I'm clear until 8/9 weeks, you might want to call back and tell them you have BV infection or find another doctor that care.

    Thank you guys! I called another doctor who is going to see me tomorrow. They told me not to worry about it and just relax. I appreciate all of your answers. It's hard to find doctors that care these days.
