Am I wrong in thinking a majority of these
booster seats sold for older kids are a joke? DD has one but it doesn't have the LATCH system so she just slides around the back seat. Even a lot of these high back booster seats don't have the LATCH system. So these huge booster seats are only held down by the childs weight? I know the purpose when they're older is to just position the belt in the right place on their shoulder but it just doesn't seem safe. When DS isn't with us she uses his car seat since it's one of those that converts to a booster seat and of course has the LATCH system. DD's old car seat didn't convert. I was hoping to find a booster with LATCH in the $50 range but it seems that may be enough.
Re: Someone help me with booster seats
I don't know much about booster seats because we are soooooo far off from that still because of H's size, but I do know that the LATCH can fail in an accident if the occupant is over 40#.
If you want, I will post your question in my carseat group.
