I think I've done my DD a big disservice...

She thinks her name is "Baby."  Even when I call her by her name, she corrects me and says "Baby."  It's because I've always called her baby.  I call her monkey, kiddo, goofball and a few other nicknames, but "baby" seems to have stuck.  She might be the only 16 year old that is called "baby."  So now I'm only calling her by her name.  I know eventually she'll get it, but I feel bad!

    If it makes you feel any better, ds calls dh "baby" because that's what I call him. I need to stop that.

    My mom calls LO "baby girl" and so now LO calls her "Baby" instead of Gramma. It's so cute!

    When I was very young, I thought my name was "good baby".  It was one of my first words.  LOL.

    I think she just likes the special name you have for her. I have always called DD by a nickname and she will repeat it to me, but she always gives her real name when people ask her. I wouldn't worry until she starts telling her Kindergarten teacher her name is "baby".

    I thought my middle name was Dear up until preschool cuz that's what my mom called me. It's sweet - no worries!

    She'll be 18 months this week, but I'm afraid she'll be 16 years old and still calling herself baby.  I think it's hysterical that she corrects me when I call her by her real name.  I guess I started freaking out when I got one of those emails that said "by this month, your baby should know her own name."  Good to hear everyone isn't as concerned about it as I am.
