Name your most recent DC milestones

As of last week, DS is now too big for the seat belt in the carseat and can now use this convertible piece of equipment as a booster seat and use the "regular" seat belt!  Yay!

Also, DS---on his own, wrote his first letters yesterday!!! Letters "S" and "E"!  I'm so  proud and excited :-))))))

Re: Name your most recent DC milestones

  • DD can write all of her first name except the e.  That's a hard one.  We started working on it last week and it's rough, but I can tell what it is!

She's also started consistently alternating feet going up and down the stairs.

  • DS can read some books...not sure how much of this is memorization and how much it is figuring the story out from the words and pictures. He can spell a handful of words, and is singing tons of songs.

  • DD has a lot of sight words down, but I've noticed lately that she's starting to sound out words one letter at a time and putting the sounds together to make the word.

  • WE finally transitioned his crib to a "big boy bed".  He is doing well with it except for last night when he got out of bed, sat in a chair, pooped (not PTed yet) and fell asleep sitting up.  We were trying to find the smell and laughed so hard at him.  Poor guy.

  • We've been raising DD bilingual Spanish/English. We're moving to France in January and have been trying to gently introduce French, but didn't want to be so aggressive with it that she would hate it or react to it before we even moved. This past week, of her own accord, she has started looking at things and asking me what the word for them is in French, then repeating the word back to me along with the words she already knows in Spanish and English. I'm thrilled at this development.

  • DD can write her name all by herself! DS is talking more and more these days and mostly in complete sentences. I just laugh at some of the stuff that's coming out of his mouth. He is also starting to potty train. I don't want to push it (although I encourage it) because I'm scared he'll decide not to if it's something mommy wants! But at least we're headed in the right direction.
