Parenting after 35

Oh I forgot to post ds stats

At 17 months he is is 28 pounds and 33 3/4 inches long. I've got a big bou on my hands. Still not talking. Scooches and alternates to crawling. Pulls himself up and will cruise and go rom one piece of furniture to the next. Cry's like nobody's business when we make him walk holding our hand. Is starting to get the hang of holding a spoon and putting into his mouth. We just have no verbal. It's all gibberish. Does not reponf to his name when called. He has dropped his afternoon nap :( so he is a cranky pants in the evening. But still he is a happy little booger and loves attention.

  • What a big boy!!  Bummer about the no afternoon nap, my kids would be awful without thier naps.  Is there a morning nap, or does he go to bed early at night? Or maybe this is a phase?

  • Big boy! Sounds fine, really. He'll get there when he's ready. S can come give him a push if you want, she's feisty. Happy is good.

There is a good two hour late morning nap. Like 11 to 1. But by 4:30ish he is not happy camper. I'm wondering if it's because his molars are coming in. There like 3 that are taking their sweet time coming up.

  • Ah, just one nap which is normal. See if you can delay the nap until 12 or so, then push it back to 1. That may make a difference in his attitude in the evening.

  • My nephew is 16 months, and he still doesn't talk. He doesn't even babble. I've heard rumors of "mama" and "ball", but I've never actually seen it. My friend's babies both only speak a handful of words and will be 2 Jan 5 and Jan 7. Some just take their time.
  • Most important that he is happy and healthy!
