PBK anywhere chair v. Land of nod chair

My parents are going to get Vivi one of these for Christmas and they want to order it soon but I can't decide which one because my my sister has the land of nod chairs for her boys and they are WRECKED.  Maybe it's the activity level of my nephews but I would hope they wouldn't look so bad after only 2 years!  Do the PBK chairs look totally destroyed after 2 years?

Recommendations?

Re: PBK anywhere chair v. Land of nod chair

  • I've only seen the LoN chairs, not in person, and I have the PBK chairs.

The PBK chairs are basically foam pieces that's held together by a slip cover.  So the slip covers come off and get washed periodically.  So not sure what kind of "wrecking" are you talking about?  If it's stain related, I think the PBK chairs are really easy to take care of.

Sorry, I can clarify.  The bottoms are flatened and they don't really look like chairs anymore.  Actually look more like bean bag chairs.

Hmmm..not sure about the squishy factor.  My boys are still using them as ladders to climb to higher ground, they haven't mastered the jumping on chair game yet.  But I can't see how it'll be completely flat if all you (the kids) are doing is sitting on them.

But I have already told DH to stop sitting in them himself, because I felt like our fat asses might be flattening them.

  • I just had this same debate and ended up going with the PBK anywhere chair. I really like the look of the LON chair, but I read some mixed reviews and many stated that they don't hold up great.

I haven't heard any bad things about the PBK chair so I went with it. Hope I made the right choice...GL with your decision!

  • Jake got his PB chair for his first birthday and it's still holding up great. He sits in it every day and will climb on it occasionally, but he's not crazy with it.  That said, I was checking out the LON ones the other day online and even as advertised, they look kind of "squishy" and not as stable as the PBK ones.  If we had to do it again, I'd definitely not even think twice...we've been really happy with our PBK one. HTH.
