how do you know you've dried up?

Wondering how you know when your milk is totally dried up? I'm in the process of weaning and have a few lumps here and there in my breast (aren't painful, so thinking they aren't clogged ducts), and I will pump a little bit and they become soft. But how do I know when I'm totally dried up? Do I leave the lumps there for a few days to see if they go away?

  • I don't think you will ever totally dry up...well not for a while anyhow...I was still able to squeeze small amts 2 yrs after I weaned DD...but ultimately you can prob stop removing milk and not feel any adverse effects...
