So... our a/s went really well yesterday! I did have OJ with water (I can't do straight OJ) beforehand, but no candy.
Interesting comment from the technician: "Did you put cream or something on your tummy?" I was like... "Well I put moisturizer on every morning...? Problem?" She said that she could actually tell that there was something on my stomach because of the way the images were coming out. When I asked if I should go and wash it off, she said "No, it's already seeped into your skin!". Anyway, we got all the shots and measurements just fine, but she did say that one should avoid putting cream or moisturizer on the belly at least for a couple of days before an ultrasound.
Just thought that I'd share this one!!
Re: Don't moisturize that tummy!!
I agree with PP, I've never heard of that. I'm not going to go itchy for a few days, If it really affected the ability to get a good quality scan, they'd put something in the instructions for preparing for the ultrasound.
Also, I wonder if there may be a specific ingredient in your lotion that didn't jive with the lube they use. It could be more of that thought. If you use a cream instead of a lotion or oil (those would soak in more, and the cream may be thicker?). Or maybe if you use a "stretch mark prevention" lotion instead of a regular lotion it could be some specific thing in it.
