Anyone else obsessed with "Extreme" pregnancy shows?

Of course I Didn't Know I was Pregnant tops the list, but also Born on a Bad Day, and the one about having babies in prison.  Now I just saw a snippet of something called Secretly Pregnant.  Not sure what that is about, but I'm sure I will watch it!

I don't know what it is about these shows but I never get tired of them.

  • I watch any show that has to do with pregnancy! I like the secretly pregnant one :)

  • The "I didn't know I was pregnant" one makes me so mad I can't stand to watch it. There is no way humanly possible that you don't know your pregnant and carry it full term. Especially if you're of an average weight. I just don't buy it at all!!!!

The only way I can possibly see it is if the person is morbidly obese and obviously they'd have to have seriously irregular periods to not thing something was up.

  • Yes! They make me relax a little about this pregnancy, like if they can do it under those circumstances, then so can I! I however do believe in the show "I didn't know I was pregnant". We had a family friend awhile back the had her periods throughout her pregnancy and honestly never looked pregnant. She was 7 months along before she found out.

I guess there is something reassuring about them.  The worst was one where a woman was delivering as hostage in a hospital takeover.  I was having the worst anxiety attack just watching it!

The reenactments on I Didn't Know I was Pregnant are just pure gold.

every single person i've seen on that show has irregular periods. and nearly all of them reported bleeding often enough during the pregnancy to think it was a period.
one of the ones i saw showed a picture of the girl in a bikini, taken at 6 months along. she did not look pregnant at all. not even bloated, and she was thin.
in fact, a majority of the the episodes i have seen involve thin women/girls.
i feel like it's kind of harsh for you to say only "morbidly obese" people wouldn't be able to tell they're pregnant.

some people just don't show. and some people don't have severe symptoms (or are clearly in denial about the symptoms they do have).
sometimes they even take pregnancy tests that come out negative!
    it's terrifying really.

  • I HATE "Secretly Pregnant." maybe I just happened to watch the worst one ever when I watched it, but it was the most stupid, predictable show ever. You cant really be secretly pregnant when you have told everyone but your parents bekcause you think they will be mad, I guess I just though these people have unusual or interesting excuses. I like all the other shows though.
  • During my first pregnancy my husband banned me from watching this stuff...  not that I listened.  LOL.  He kept joking that he was going to set parental controls for TLC and Discovery Health.

It seems like there are a lot more of these types of shows now.  I have never even heard of Secretly Pregnant!

  • ME ME AND ME!

My sister and I are pregnant at the same time(I know it's funny and stange at the same time LOL) but we both LOVE any type of pregnancy show that comes on, no matter what it is! if it's not on t.v. then I am googling it, youtube, everything!! I thought I was the only one!

  • DH and I NEVER tire of them either! Every single one of them is awful and awesome in their very own special way! Secretly Pregnant is my new favorite, simply b/c the stories are so ridiculous, especially the one about the 40yrs old single mom who got KU by the 19yrs old kid from her job and she was too scared to tell her own parents, LMFAO!!!!!!

  • I really like some of them.  The ones that get me are "I'm Pregnant and I'm a ____" .  Those are just crazy.

  • Oh absolutly! When I was wedding planning I became hooked on all those wedding shows (Bridezillas and Say Yes to the Dress Etc.).  After the wedding I was "wedding-ed out" and couldn't watch them.  Now it is all about the pregnancy shows!
