Hi everyone!
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! Harry Desmond was born at 8:12pm on November 7. He weighed 5lbs11oz and was 19in long, so definitely smaller than we figured he would be but he is being a little trooper and is just too cute for words!
So, it all started yesterday at my weekly doctors appointment. On our way in DH said he noticed that I was waddling a bit more, but just figured it was b/c he was getting bigger. Doctors were not okay with my BP and definitely thought an induction was the best thing for both of us.
They were ready to give me a c/s b/c of how early it was and didn't want to stress me out going from 0 to 10, but my doctor checked me anyways. Low and behold, I was 5cm dilated already! No one could believe that I got that far w/o really feeling like I was in labor, but I really had no idea .
I was given pitocin to speed up the process and was in labor for about 9 hours, which went by SO FAST! Before I knew it I was pushing. I pushed for about 15 minutes and he just slid out and caught everyone by surprise . I did manage to get a 2nd degree tear, the doctor likened it to giving myself an episotomy.
Harry is doing as well as can be expected. They haven't let me breast feed at all b/c his sugars are borderline, but both DH and I have given him a bottle of formula. His sugars unfortunately haven't improved like they thought they would so they are now having to start him on an IV, and will be on that at least over night.
Other concerns are temperature regulation and jaundice, but those are pretty minor. The main thing is the sugar.
I was put on magnesium sulfate during delivery b/c I was classified as pre-E (even though I never had protein in my urine) so I'll be in the hospital at least another 2 days, and hopefully Harry will make it home by the weekend!
Here are a few pictures.

Congrats mama. You guys definitely have a handsome little boy in your arms! I hope everything levels itself out, and that you two will be able to bring him home by the weekend. Also glad to hear your labour went very well. And that a c-section was not necessary! Way to go mama! keep up updated on his progress, and don't forget that the doctors are doing everything then can to make him as healthy as can be.
If you get a chance to explain, what is wrong with his sugar levels? Did you have GD? I am also a FTM, and do not know all the ins and outs of a healthy birthed baby.
