closing date

DH and I moved to FL in March (from OR) and have been looking for a house ever since.  We seem to only find and like short sales, so it's been a pain in the arse.  Finally, this past weekend, we got word back from the bank that they are approving the amount we offered and are moving forward with closing. 

My question: 30 days from now is Dec. 7 or 8.  My due date is Dec. 9.  Does anyone have experience moving at the same time as their due date?  My mom will be in town starting Dec. 5.  I'm not so sure that helping us move was part of her plan though.  Stick out tongue

    We closed on a house October 7 and my due date isn't til December 29th. With moving, doing a little bit of work, and getting everything in order we just finished this weekend. I had lots of help (DH, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cousins) and am very thankful because I could not do much at all. I can't imagine doing it any later so I wish you a lot of luck.

    I do not have any experience with this but all I can say is, good luck to you!

    No really, it will obviously be a challenge to move that close to your dd but I'm sure you will get through it, I mean what's the alternative right?

    Would they possibly let you start moving stuff in a week before closing?  It doesn't hurt to ask!

    We are closing on a house Dec 7th and due date is December 17th. Obviously it will b tough but I'm sure plenty of people will be willing to help, especially with you being so close to your due date. You may want to look at the possibility of allowing someone power of attorney in the event you are in labor at closing or requesting your attorney amend the purchase contract to allow the closing date to change if you are in labor or in hospital. We are still trying to decide if we're going to put something in the contract or just hope our closing day Is okay. Congrats on the house and good luck!
