Boy names containing "x"

Hi ladies,

I haven't posted on this board before but I'm a fan of your honest analysis so here we go:

Our last name is long and Scandinavian and I would love an easy first name. My DH and I both like names that contain the letter "x" because the sound is completely different from the LN and has a nice contrast.

I'm partial to Max. However, we need to use "John" as the middle name and I feel like "Max John" doesn't sound great (DH's name, as well as all the first born sons of the first born sons names...it was a struggle to get DH to agree to use it as a MN at all so the MN is non-negotiable). I suggested Maxwell John and DH is not a fan. Does anyone have any alternatives to Maxwell that would work?

DH likes the name Dex quite a bit, but neither of us likes Dexter as the full name. I'm open to any suggestions, whether using these two names or any others. TIA!

Maxim John sounds sophisticated to me, I don't know how it would sound with your last name though.

I like Xavier and Xander, too

Maddox John sounds nice with nn Max.

Other names containing X are Alexander (Alex or Xander) and Xavier. I like Alexander John nn Alex.

There's a bumpie with a son named Maddox NN Max. Maybe your husband would like that better?

Also, call me crazy, but I love Lex as a boy's name.

Xavier isn't bad either. I would have to think about it more. I considered Alexander nn Alex, but our last name is 3 syllables so I wasn't sure if that was too much of a mouthful. I also sent DH Maddox as a suggestion--cute name. I've been getting most of my name ideas from bumpies siggy name tags. Better than a baby names book!
