Anyone successful after difficult ET?

I am in the full-on throes of doubting success in my first ever IVF TWW. When I went in for my ET on day 3, the RE did a practice run, and it took a few minutes, but went okay. Then, the embryo was loaded in a new catheter, and after not getting the catheter in after a few tries, it was removed completely and the angle of the tip carefully adjusted all the while it was still loaded. Then he tried it again, and it was pretty smooth from there. Ultrasound guidance was used.

While I am pretty sure the embie could not have fallen out while it was being readjusted, I can't stop wondering if the overall time it took could be working against me. So, I am here hoping to be cheered up from a positive outcome from a difficult transfer.

3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

DS born 07/29/12

FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(

    I had a very similar experience with my first, and so far only, ET. My RE started off the whole thing saying he would not have to use the ultrasound, but after a very tough trial run, he did end up needing a lot of repositioning and the ultrasound! I was of course sure that it wouldn't take- but I am 15 weeks along now!!!! Good luck, I really hope everthing works out for you :)

    TTC since November 2008; me - poor egg quality,hypothyroidism,missing beta 3 integrin;
    DH - some MFI;

    1 month clomid plus timing - BFN;
    3 months clomid + IUI - BFN BFN BFN

    IVF #1 Nov/Dec 2009 - BFP - c/p;
    IVF #2.1 Jan 2011 - Converted to IUI - BFN;
    IVF #2.2 March/April 2011 - ER 3/23/11: 12 retrieved, 8 mature, 3 fert-ET 3dt 3/26/11: 3 embies - BFN;
    IVF #3 May 2011 - ER 5/19/11: 20 retrieved, 10 mature, 9 fert-ET 5dt 5/24/11 3 embies - BFN;
    Switched RE's for IVF #4 (CCRM) Oct 2011 - Surprise BFP before starting IVF #4!

    Hi!  I was just lurking and I saw your post...but I had a terrible experience with my ET...so it was not good news for me.  It took an hour and a half for my ET and my ER thinks due to "trauma" it did not take.  It sounds like yours was better than mine!  I wish you luck!!

    TTC #1 since 3/10:
    DX: Me-PCOS, retroverted/ tilted ute - DH- MFI, DH-4 mo of Clomid therapy= no improvement. Weekly HCG injections.
    Me-34, DH-33
    HSG- unsuccessful, SHSG (dialated)-no blockages
    7/11-Clomid (unmonitored) BFN,
    #1 Fresh IVF 9/11: w/ ICSI & AH (only option): (1 transfered, 8BF) = BFN!!
    #2 FET: 2 transferred (2 6BF) 12/11 = BFFN!!
    Surprise + HPT on break! 2/12 Beta 1: 6 Beta 2: <5 = c/p ( RE had given me provera... So pretty sure this ruined everything)<BR> #3 Fresh IVF 3/12: w/ ICSI & AH (2 transfered 8BF & 7BF, 1 to freeze) = BFMFN!
    New RE 5/12
    6/14 Hysteroscopy
    #4 Fresh IVF 8/12: 5dt of 2 5AB blasts = BFN!... what else is new?!?
    New RE insists its a transfer issue, immunology checked & good
    #5 IVF FET 1/13 under anesthesia : Two 5 day blasts transferred
    + HPT!! Beta1: 2315 Beta2: 6442 Beta3: 31,061
    First u/s 1/30/13: Shows 1 healthy heartbeat!!

    Was he was right? I wasted 4 IVF's and the doctors were not getting the catheter in?!?

    3/06 - m/c 1st baby at 6 weeks 
    5/06 -2nd baby had no heartbeat at 14 wks.
    D&E - Bled out. Blood transfusions. Week in ICU - Cheated Death!
    Diagnosis: Blood clotting and bleeding disorder, immune issues, & cervical stenosis
    5/10 - 1st IVF cycle - BFN
    FET - 10/12/10 - BFN
    1/11 - IVF with PGD - BFN
    IVF - May - BFN
    6/11 New RE - fingers crossed!
    9/11 - IVF - 4 transferred
    10/13 - BFP!!
    It's a boy! Clint Michael, Due in June!!!

    Thanks for the replies, ladies! So, I POAS today at 7dp3dt and see a faint line, so I think that means that there is likely to be something in there :). I don't think it is still the trigger since it was nonexistant 3 days ago. Maybe I will try optimism now...

    I had issues during my ET and they had to try 2 different catheters, which is odd because I had never had issues with my IUIs.  But, obviously it worked.

    ***Oooh I see it did for you too!  Congrats!!!
