Same, I even have some apps for my ten month old, just have to make sure she doesn't start chewing on it. DS also has an iTouch so I trust him with it.
Yes, they play with it. I have an Otterbox on it though, so it's fine if they drop it. I have the 4s, too, and I just have to say I do NOT like that Siri witch!
Not really. He has played Angry Birds on it twice, both extreme situations. He uses my iPad on airplanes (apps and watching movies), but that is it. I like to keep our stuff separate from his.

I guess I'm the mean mom I don't let the girls play with my phone. It causes too much fighting and I don't want them getting into something they shouldn't. From time to time I will let DD#1 watch a YouTube video or something on it, but otherwise it's a hands off item.
Mom to DD#1 December '06, DD#2 Feb '09 and DS March '12
I had a 3G that took me about a year to let my kids use, once I figured out I needed a case and a screen protector. Now I have a 4S that they aren't allowed to play with but kept my old 3G with all their apps/games so they can play with that one anytime.
I wasn't so much worried about them breaking it but what would happen is they would play with it ALL the time and run the battery down when I needed it.
Yes. He plays with my iPhone and iPad. I have otterbox cases for both and put them in airplane mode for him to use the apps and watch movies. I also turn on restrictions like no apps deletion.

DD has her own iphone to play with. its not hooked up to phone service so its more like an ipod in that sense. She likes to play angry birds and has flash cards and a few other kid-friendly apps.
How she got it was its a hand me down from DH and me. DH has the 4 I have the 3gs and she got Dh's old one from before.
I also have an ipad and she gets to play on it but its in a heavy case and always supervised.
When I upgrade my iphone DD will get my 3gs and DS will get her old one. Then we all will have iphones.

This is what we did with our 3Gs too. Unfortunately, they like the 4s better (duh). I don't have a problem with them playing with it, but the almost 5 y/o saw us using siri and tried it. Siri doesn't quite understand him so instead of 'find monster jam videos' she ends up making random calls to my contacts .

I let Nora plays games on there that I've uploaded to her.
Now Miles? No, not by choice. But....that kid is too damn quick sometimes.
