Steam Mops: have them? love them? what kind?

So I've been wanting a steam mop for a while. We have 2 pets, a lot of tile, and hopefully a soon-to-be-mobile DS.

The Christmas list thread reminded me of this, and I'd like to put it on my wish list.

What kind do you recommend? I want something that will really get the job done.

For the record, I tend to find Swiffer sweepers and mops a PITA. I hate messing with the little pads that never seem to pick anything up, and I feel like every time I use one I go through about 500 pads to do the job. The last time I used a swiffer-type product was about 4 years ago.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is I really want one that gets the job done right the first time. In your experience, does using a steam mop tend to give you the same results as a swiffer sweeper or mop, or is it noticeably better?
