How much is you LO eating?

Hey ladies,

Im an EBF and I also pump when i can't breast feed while I'm out.  My little man is almsot 5 weeks old, I'm just wondering how many oz on average he should be eating.  How much are your LOs eating?

Same here.  DS was eating 4 oz. consistently when he was 4 weeks.  I always thought it was a lot, but I guess it is what it is.

  • We only use a bottle every couple of days, but usually our 5 week old usually takes a little over 2 ounces.

Just a FYI - breastfed babies don't eat more than 4 oz, even as they get older.  My breastfeeding course told us not even to buy the large size bottles and this was confirmed with the lactation consultants. As babies get older the composition of your milk changes and provides more nutrients in the same amount.
