I know I've been super MIA - mostly because I stay so busy with Kate. But, also because I knew I couldn't be around without opening my mouth!
We are joining the 2u2 club - I am currently 16w pregnant. With a baby BOY!
We found out the week Kate was admitted to the hospital to start chemo. Talk about shock as I was waiting to start so I could get my IUD. This was not in our plan at all.
We decided to proceed forward with genetic testing and I had a CVS in early October. Unfortunately we were unable to get a decent sample size so we had to wait weeks for the sample to grow and be sent off for testing.
Unfortunately, we found out that Will has CAMT and will be following in his big sister's footsteps. He will require a complete bone marrow transplant.
I realize that making the decision we have made to continue forward with a pregnancy with known complications is not something everyone will do. However, we are excited for our little boy and faithful that he will be healed completely. We have not made the CAMT diagnosis public on FB yet but will soon I'm sure.
I hope people can respect our decisions. We've done this before and know we can do it again - this baby is a miracle and we are sure the Lord has big plans for him!

congratulations! it is so exciting that you're expecting- i am sure it is also scary knowing the complications ahead, but at least this time around you know what to expect.
i am also just impressed you found time to have sex given all the turmoil you had going on!
Congratulations!! What a crazy time to find out you're expecting again! It had to be nice to have something so positive happening at a challenging time.
Will his cord blood be able to help him or is this something that would exist in his cord blood as well?

It is genetic so his cord blood with be affected by CAMT as well. He will need a donor just like Kate.
I just saw this on FB - so exciting. I place no judgment on your decision, as I can only imagine I'd do the same. I'm sure everything will work out fine in the end.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).

Secondly, I'm sorry that you will have to go down the CAMT road again. That said, you are becoming an expert in navigating it, and this little guy came to you knowing he found the perfect parents to help him get through this!

I'm so sorry to hear about the repeat diagnosis, but as others have said, you know what you're doing and he's lucky to have you as parents.
