Joovy stroller vs. regular stroller? Need opinions..

This is more for Moms who already have more than one child. Im trying to decide if I should buy a double stroller or just get a regular stroller for the baby. What did you get when you had your second child? We ended up giving away our stroller/car seat combo about two years ago so we're having to purchase new ones. Anyways; which stroller would you get?

Here's an example of the joovy stroller in case you arent familiar:

  • How much does your older child ride in a stroller now? At 4, I would think his stroller days are limited (I think by 5, he'd be done), so if it were me, I wouldn't waste the money on a double. I think a sit and stand like this one you linked to would be a good idea. Does this stroller accommodate a newborn? I'd get something like this, if I were you!

He mostly walks whenever we're out but Im thinking of when Im out alone with the boys it'll be nice to have a place for him to sit if he gets tired. This stroller does accommodate a newborn. You can sit the carseat in the front just like you would a regular stroller. Its just a matter of finding a carseat that fits best in it from what Ive read on the reviews.

  • I just bought a Joovy off of craiglist for $60!  I'm pretty stoked.  I can lift the Joovy with one hand when it's folded up while my girlfriends City Select Double is HEAVY!  Also, the mom I bought the Joovy from said she had put her new baby in it pretty much right from the start.

  • I would get a joovy for regular trips and pick up an inexpensive side by side umbrella stroller, like a Graco Ipo, for longer trips when your baby is a little older and your older DC may get tired and need something with a back on it.  I would even buy one of them used.  we bought our sit n stand used, best $30 I ever spent and it's still going strong.
