The other night, in the heat of the moment, dh had to stop things so he could cover up (if ya know what I mean). I said "man, this is getting annoying". He said, "well, we don't want another yet!!"

YET!! Which to means, that maybe one day we might want another one. Right? RIGHT!?!?

I am very sure that I would like one more and dh has for the most part seemed very sure that he does NOT want another one. I talked him out of having his junk snipped and said that I'd do an IUD for a couple years until we can both agree for sure one way or another (which, IUD's scare the sh!t out of me, so I'm probably gonna not go that route...). He agreed, but it took a LOT of persuading. He was ready to make it final. (I might add, that there has been more then once since A was born that I've seen it in dh's eyes that he isn't done..though he adamantly disagrees)

Anyway, he said YET the other night. I know that I shouldn't invest too much into this (especially since I know he wasn't thinking clearly given the situation we were in at the time), but I'm gonna go ahead and order an extra Christmas stocking...just in case. I've been wanting to get some good, personalized stockings for years, but never did cause our family was growing and I wasn't sure how big we'd grow to. I decided this year is the year to order them and just to be safe, I'm gonna order and extra (blank of course) one cause dh said YET!!

Because I'm pretty sure that's what I read in the OP. My husband's done with 3 and while I have a little ache every time I see a cute sweet little one, I'm not planning on more either. Maybe that will change, but for now I function as though our family is complete. Hanging on to the idea of more when my husband is set against it isn't healthy for us.

But if it works for you guys. . . good luck! My DH was dead set against 2 when we had 1 and 3 when we had 2 so. . . who knows! I know for us, since 3 was the hardest to get and the hardest 1st year, she's likely the last.

Sidenote: I do NOT want to have another if dh doesn't WANT another equally as much. The absolute last thing I would want would be to have a child that dh might resent or not accept because he wasn't on board from the get go. I'd hate to have a baby come between our happy little family in any way. So, as long he is he says no, no it is.

With that said, we are still pretty young (I think, maybe..kind of?? We are both 31), I think to say right now that we don't want another a couple years from now is a bit drastic. Maybe we don't want another one later, maybe we do. I'm not ready to completely close the door on it. I know I don't want another right now, but I think I can see it down the road...IF dh agrees.

I'm not sure when or how he decided on three. At one time, we both agreed on four (this was before we had any). I have kind of always held on to this. After we had the two girls, he said we'd try again..maybe this one would be a boy (though we'd be happy either way). We said if we had a third girl, that would be natures way of telling us we were meant to have girls. BUT! We had a boy. Soooo???

I think part of his hesitation is that three of our four pregnancies weren't "normal" or "healthy" and that scares him. I totally get it...it scares me too. In any event, I think the door is open and the possibility *might* be there...

For real though, I knew you wouldn't do something against YH's wishes. FWIW, DH said no more if it isn't soon. I don't want another right now. I have an IUD, after telling him not to get snipped. We will revisit in a few years. We are (I am) 85% sure we are done. That leave 15% in the future. Who knows.
