OMG, how frightening. I'm glad they are still following up on leads, but how terrifying. I probably would have reacted the same way you did and been frozen by fear.
As a mom who looks nothing like her kids, this kind of stuff scares the bejeezus out of me! I think I would've peed myself--sounds like you handled it well, all things considered.
Holy crap, that is the craziest sh^t that I have ever heard. Knowing me, I would have freaked out and thought the FBI guy was a fake and that he was trying to kill me and steal my baby...
This. Being the uber paranoid type, I might have even called the regular police to have them present while being questioned by the FBI. I'm glad that they're taking all leads seriously but how scary. I'm glad your mom was with you.
I was able to read both posts at dinner, but not able to respond until now. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Hopefullly today will be the last of it.

I'm lurking. Sorry to barge in. I just wanted to give you my experience. This hasn't happened to me with my LO but when I was 10, we lived in Ohio and one day, my mother opened the door to about 15 FBI and police standing there with badges and guns drawn. I was scared to death and so was my mother. Turns out, there is a little girl who is still missing to this day, named Stephanie Crane. I looked exactly like her. Her birthday was the day after mine. No picture in the world was going to convince them that I wasn't her. They took us to the police station and separated us for 9 hours.
Stephanie and I had the same hair color, hair cut, gap in the front teeth, freckles, etc. We are clones. I kept telling them that she was my mother and I remember back to when I was little, (i was a scared child) and they kept saying that it didn't matter what I thought I knew, I could have been brainwashed. After a while, they took me to the dentist and compared dental records, which determined that I wasn't this girl.
I just wanted to tell you that I know how scary it is. But at least they are diligent about finding missing children.
