where to buy furniture

Other than Ikea and Craigslist/thrift stores: Where did you buy your kids bedroom furniture?  I want to get a new set for Walter and trying to convince DH it's not as much $$$ as he thinks it's going to be.  Thanks!

Re: where to buy furniture

  • Can't help we got M's bed/nightstand off CL.  I know acouple girls here who did PB or The Cannery place down south.   I know Macy's sell kids, Underhills, you could check the old Costco furniture outlet place.

  • We bought DD's convertible crib at BRU. We found one we liked and then did a comparison shopping around for the same set and with a 20% coupon it was the cheapest around. I was surprised as I figured BRU would be astronomical, but with the coupon they were the way to go.

  • Have you tried Sam's club? They have some cute stuff, and I find the prices reasonable...
  • Old Cannery down in Sumner. Great selection, great prices, and they have trains! Collin had the most fun of any of us while we were there.

  • We went with ikea, but I have always been a fan of the Mason boys bedroom set from target and its not too expensive.

  • As PP's mention, I would check out The Cannery and Sansaco.

  • JCPenney.com Beautiful, great prices, and great quality. If you watch you can buy it when they have a 20% or 25% off code and free shipping for the best deal.

Our crib and dresser would have originally been $1148.00 plus shipping and with sales, additional % off and free shipping we only paid $678.40 with free shipping. I was not sure what to expect because with JC Penney?s you are ordering sight unseen, I was very impressed when our set arrived. If you are looking to spend less they have sets that start at $169.00 before the additional % off and dressers starting at $199.00.

  • COSTCO!  They usually come out with kids furniture (well, all furniture) just after Christmas.  I too want a new bed set for Audrey..a twin trundle..but DH insists we use her crib/ 4 in one and go the full size route.  :(

Hence also why i went with a cheaper crib for R...so I CAN get him nice furniture when the time comes.

Granted we bought the crib/convertible, long combo unit (long low dresser), hutch for on top of combo once we didn't need the changer anymore, and dresser as a set at USA Baby which is now Cribs to Bunks in Southcenter.  They also had some big kid furniture the last time I was in there.

We love the Old Cannery! Our living room set (entertainment center, coffee table, side tables) plus our dining room (table and chairs and china cabinet) are all from there. They have a whole kids room in there. They have great quality furniture and great prices!

Jake's crib is a convertible from PBK and his dresser is from Ikea.
