While putting my registry together, everyone keeps telling me to make sure I put disposable diapers on it, as you can NEVER have enough. How do I know what kind to put on? There are so many different kinds out there!

Re: Registering for diapers
Well, that's the thing, you don't know. Every baby is different. I would say that the Swaddlers are pretty universal but after that it is really a mix of parental preference and child tolerance.
If there is a non-tacky way, I would say registering for gift cards is the best way to go. It really helps out when you are making your 15th trip to Wal-Mart after the baby is born.
I registered for the store brand at BRU, many boxes of the first 4 sizes. I figure that I can just return for store credit if I don't like them and try other brands!
Just don't register for diapers. Usually at showers people will give you diapers anyway, and they don't pay any attention to what brand/sizes you want, they usually just buy what they used/what is on sale/etc. And stores are cracking down on returns, by the time your LO is here, you may not be able to exchange the diapers for what you want.
I was convinced I wanted to use Huggies for DD, however Pampers worked so much better. I had only a couple small packs of diapers in the beginning until I figured out what worked and then sent my mom or husband to pick up more diapers. It worked out fine for us even with me being housebound due to complications for over a month.
I was told to register for diapers and I did . . . so far I have 200 diapers in size 1 (Pampers and Huggies) and a HUGE box of wipes.
At the beginning, the LO doesn't move around too much, so I figure it will be a good time to try out which brand works best on LO.
I really like the Pampers swaddlers the best and would recommend those. Maybe one smaller newborn bag (no more than 60 diapers in case your baby is big) and size 1 and up after that.
However, the posts on here are right...some babies don't do well with all diapers. Sometimes you get leaks and rashes with certain brands.
