Baby crying in utero

I just learned about this phenomenon, and sorry is advance for sharing the burden of this heartbreaking thought, but apparently babies start crying while still inside!

Aaaw, it breaks my heart to even think about this. 

I guess they have to practice everything, including crying, but still!

Did you all know about this??

    I did know and it sometimes makes me feel bad b/c we obviously don't know if something we're doing, eating, etc is upsetting the baby. Like is my baby crying b/c I just poked his foot or something? :P But I don't really think about it a lot. Just occasionally wonder...

    I knew about it after reading some articles, but I decided to stick my head in the sand and pretend that any movement my baby made meant that it was happy =D I know, I'm such a great parent already!

    That BROKE MY HEART!!!  ESPecially after the way Sissy was jumping all over after I had the mildest chicken wing salad on the menu that still made my nose water last night.  I am the WORST Mom ever.

    They don't actually cry because they're sad.  They "cry" to practice moving their facial muscles.  Crying is their only defense mechanism when they're born and it needs to be developed by the time they come out.

    Wow I didn't think that would affect me but it totally did. I just wanted to soothe the baby. I get that it's practice just like anything else but still :(

    I just found it out this weekend and I cried my eyes out!  I cried again last night when I told DH about it.  From here on out I'm going to pretend like I don't know about it.
