What's really going to stink is when I get back home and have to switch back to 8-5 hours. Although I may get to come home early! We only have 4 people at the lab- I'm OOT for 3 more weeks, 1 is going on maternity leave in 3 weeks, 1 just quite Friday, and the other is part-time. So in 3 weeks it will be me and the part-time person until Feb (unless they hire someone else).

What kind of lab? I'm a second-shifter in a hospital blood bank, so my ears perk up like a puppy whenever anyone says "lab"!

I normally work in a 3rd pary lab that tests mainly dairy products (but we can test just about anything else as well- veggies, fireproofing, enviro swabs for things like Listeria, etc).

Right now though, a dairy we do testing for is down 2 lab techs so I got sent up here to help them out for a month. Is this is my job description? No. Do I see a hefty Christmas bonus in my near future? I sure hope so!

I'm lurking because I've done approximately 20 minutes worth of work today and I don't feel like doing any more. DS was up at 4 wanting to eat and was all crankypants at 5:30 when I woke him up. So I'm sleepy and it's Monday and cold outside.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend with the boys!! Cookies and playing are always two pieces of a good weekend.

Oh yeah that's hard! It was a really hard decision for us. We originally had the goal of getting rid of all our student loans before we had kids. All my income was going towards SLs. But it got to the point of crying all the time, stressed out, stomach pain from the stress (i've had stomach ulcers before from stress)... so we decided it wasn't worth it and we would just live below our means and continue to pay off SLs, more slowly but surely. It was hard because I had worked there for almost 3 years. But we're excited to see what happens next! It's so nice your husband is also so supportive of you and wants what's best for you!

It was a nice, but very busy weekend. When the boys come to town we have to spend every waking second with them so I have had zero time alone since Tuesday. I need a break. They are coming over tonight for trick or treating and then tomorrow they go back home. I'll miss them, but I really miss my lazy nights at home with my tv. I only let myself eat one of the cookies since I'm supposed to be on a diet. It was the most delicious cookie I have ever eaten

He is very sweet, but not exactly realistic finance wise. I am glad you were able to get out. No job should be worth putting your body through ulcers.
