One Twin More Active?

For the last few days, twin B has been a lot more active. I'm still feeling twin A, but he isn't near as active as he used to be. Twin B has been VERY active and is moving my tummy all over the place. Should I be contacting the doctor since twin A has been very chill compared to normal? I have an ultrasound Tuesday and see the doctor Wednesday.

Re: One Twin More Active?

  • I say normal. Remember, they move around, so you may not be feeling what you think. I always thought one was more active and sitting high up. It ended up being one babies hands and the other babies feel in the same area punching at me! It was very obvious on the US

  • This has been the same for me for a few weeks now. A was more active, when they were both breech, and now it's definitely B. I only feel A when I'm laying down now.  Last time I saw them (2 weeks ago) he was flipped to head down and pretty crammed down low by B.  Since then, I had an OB appointment, and still 2 good heartbeats. I'll see them again Tuesday since I see the MFM every 2 weeks now.  I don't feel him much but it the last 2 appointments it's been fine.  It's funny, because A is bigger, so you'd think he'd be felt more, but in my case (if who I think is moving really is), my girl is kicking his butt :)

  • Thanks for such a quick response! I feel much better Smile It seems like they take turns being active. Last weekend I could have written the same post about the opposite baby!

  • My experience is totally the same.  Recently I think Baby B has been facing toward the inside and I don't feel kicks from him.  The other night he rolled around and they were both kicking like crazy.  I couldn't do anything...  Then he rolled back - I think it might be best for my sanity that they take turns being active :)
  • My  babies did that.  A was way more chill inside and out than B.
  • I felt A ALL THE TIME and barely felt B at all.  They were both always fine, and it turned out that B was quite a bit (2 lbs) smaller so probably just not as easy to feel.

They did keep up the patterns after birth, though.  A moves all day long, always diving one way or another,  and B is very chill and content to be held and cuddle.

  • I rarely ever feel Baby B, but I feel Baby A all of the time (I think).  I asked at my last appointment if I'm going to have to count kicks for each baby later on and they said yes.  With them being in one placenta it seems like it will be hard to tell who's moving, especially to be able to tell definitively enough to count movement for them each.

Mine always seem the most active when I'm alone.  I'll feel a lot of kicking, then H will get home or I'll see my mom or my sister (who are both dying to feel them kick) and they'll stop.  H has only felt them 3 times so far and no one else has felt anything yet.  It's kind of funny.
