Costume post got me thinking...

I went to several different stores trying to find some pants suitable for my goth/Abby costume. No dice. They only sell them online. Ugh. So I found black leggings as one pp suggested. Once the outfit is on only about 5 inches of my legs would show but I don't feel comfortable with my legs being revealed. Tights it is!

After I bought it then it dawned on me I will be wearing 'pants' under a skirt and that hasn't happened for me since I was 5. Lol. I couldn't find a black wig either so I got the hot pink, red and black clip in hair extensions.

  • I think I'm confused about the difference between tights, leggings and hose.

  • No, I don't want mini skirts on my girls. And they had tights but I thought they would be see through. So I went with leggings.

The tights I saw had the same look and feel of hose. I wanted something that would be black and not see through. I kept looking and they had leggings so I bought those instead.

AH okay. I always think of tights and hose as the same thing. But then I hear people say hose are for old ladies ( I wear them whatever, I have fat squishy legs, I need control top lol), I have seen leggings that feel like the same stuff though without feet.

So skin tight spandex is ok. But mini skirts bad. Gotcha.

    Cool.

I havent worn hose in years. I'm always in suits. But the tights seemed to be sheer or sort of see through. I didn't want the see through. I really wanted the goth pants the store used to sell with the chains, safety pins and such on them but of course as my luck would have it, they only sell them online. Nothing there in the store was remotely close to what I needed.

    You don't have a Spencer's close by?

That was the other store I went to. I wanted a lab coat to go to my knees and cover my legs. But the stupid store didn't have a mock doctor outfit. All the costumes they had for women had corsets, extremely low cut tops (if you'd even call it a top) and the skirt had to be all of 4 inches long.

I was texting my Lt. when I cleared with him that some of us are joining in for the costume day. He said he was fine with the leggings so my legs are covered. Leave it to me to wait till the last minute to try and find something. I also can't find the lab coat my SIL let me use for the same costume 3 years ago. I've moved since then and I honestly couldn't tell you what box it's in. So I'm stuck. I like the skirt I have to use and it's very long in comparison to what Hot Topic sells now, I guess they went shorter since 2008.

I'm going to be the geek goth I guess. I will still be in my compression garment I wear every day, the leggings, the tall boots, skirt, white button up shirt and I found some black sleeves that have the buckles and stuff on them. I'm going to ask one of our guys at the office if I can borrom his lab coat for the day that he uses for his undercover work. If not then I also bought a black jacket to wear.
