DD has a fairly large room and closet, but it doesn't have the little shelf at the bottom for shoes. I have been keeping them in a basket by the door, but it is getting a little messy and hard to keep track of them.
Where do you put all their shoes?

The frequently used ones (sneakers) are in a basket at the bottom of the steps, the rest are on a shelf in the closet but we have shelves in there. They have very few shoes anyway, maybe 3 pairs per season on average, they wear their sneakers pretty much every day and then have a dressier pair, some rain boots & in winter, their snow boots which stay in the garage. Maybe one other pair for DD.
I actually keep them organized in his top drawer. I just have them lined up in there in order of use. He only has 1 pair of Vans, 1 pair of Sperrys, 1 pair of Crocs, and 1 pair of Rainbows so it doesnt take up that much room. I assume when I have my daughter she will have more shoes than my son does. LOL
Same. Her dresser is fairly small so most of her clothes hang in the closet. PJs, onesies, and shoes/socks go in the dresser. She has about 9 pairs right now (and believe it or not, wears them all!) so there was really nowhere else to put them neatly.
I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma
I keep the pair he wears pretty much every day in the diaper bag. He takes them off in his car seat, so I carry him down to the car barefoot and put his shoes on when we get where we're going. When I take them off, I just put them right back in the diaper bag for next time. He has one other pair that I keep in his top drawer.

~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation.
Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation). ~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone). ~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain). ~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40! Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).
I keep them in a basket, but why don't you just buy a shelf? We actually bought 2 and stacked them on the bottom her closet. We don't keep shoes on them, but easily could. Or you could get one of those shoe organizer things that hang over the door and face it so it hangs inside the closet (of course).
I keep one pair under his stroller and then I have a fabric bin on the top of his shelf w/ his shoes and socks. I just created this system as they were all over before!

This is one thing I was considering, just thought I would see what other creative ideas I could find.

We don't wear our shoes in the house, so all of our shoes on shelf shoe organizers in our garage. DD has the top shelf for her shoes. We have a bench and it's right by the door, so she sits on the bench to put her shoes on.
We keep them in a small basket by the front door next to where we keep our own shoes. DS has about 5 pairs of shoes (tennis shoes, nice lace up shoes for church, sperrys, his "work boots" --they match my DH's hehe, and his "house shoes" which are just robeez he likes to wear around the house). He really enjoys taking the shoes out, sorting them, being able to go and get his own shoes and bring them to me when we're getting ready so it works.
In a clear plastic over the door shoe organizer. It's on the inside of her closet door and I use it to organize all of her small things - shoes, hats, tights, socks, headbands, etc.
