Itinerary looks good! Fun day at sea...meaning you just hang out and do fun stuff on board right...no stops. What all does this fancy ship have to do?
Not all that sure yet....bingo, gambling, laying out, pool, drinks of course (if I can partake then, we shall see), but best of all -- it has air hockey! DH and I are huge rivals -- I kick his behind everytime (though he won't admit it). Yep -- fun days are those at sea! relax, read a book, work on my tan (now I have a reason to go!!).

Hey Jeffrae, saw your earlier post about Carnival. We took a 12 night cruise around the mediterranean for our honeymoon with Carnival. On our cruise they seemed to make announcements about jewelry sales in the gift shop every am before 10, which was annoying. I quite enjoyed the shows (not DH's thing) and there was a really good steak place you could go to (not included, but definitely worth the $). I hope that you have a great trip. The only other cruise line I had been on was Royal Carribean to the Bahamas. Carnival includes gratuity on everything (and I mean everything i.e. my chocolate chip cookie), in some ways it's nice because you don't have to think, but 15% for a drink from the bar when I go up there myself I think is a bit steep, I'm a bit thrifty though.

I hear ya! We took a 14 day cruise with Princess last December. We spent about $1200 more after all excursions, drinks, gratuity. We actually budgeted for it this time so we would not be in sticker shock. Since we have cruise previously (with Princess, and Carnival now owns Princess) we got upgraded and a discount. :-)

Sweet...air hockey?! Nice! You two will have a blast!
I keep trying to talk DH into taking me somewhere. Neither of us have ever been on a cruise. Was the pricing reasonable?
I think we figured it out (including travel insurance) it is a little over $100 a night for each of us -- includes lodging, service, food, and entertainment. So I think so! We spent a heck of a lot more last year on a 4 day resort stay in Puerto Vallarta.
Do you ever travel outside of AK for vacation?

I'm deprived! haha. I haven't been many places, but ya I have gotten out. I have been to Vegas a few times, Hawaii twice, Michigan, and Washington multiple times. That's it.
I really wanna go to Disney! I will take Land or World..whatever I can get!

I want to go to Disney too (never been). Heck, I'd take Euro Disney at this point since it's closer now. I think a Disney cruise when we have kids would be fun- a cruise for us, and entertainment for the kids. DH is strongly opposed to the idea....

Really? I think a Disney cruise is an awesome idea! That sucks that he is strongly opposed. Keep working on him!
I would like to island hop in Hawaii. We went to Kauai last Dec from the east coast. The travel was a pain, of 4 flights (from Hawaii, bouncing through LAX) 2 were significantly delayed and 1 cancelled, plus our baggage took another 3 days to get back to VA. Next time we'll have to go for at least 2 weeks. We went to Turks and Caicos two years ago, that was a lot closer for us and quite pretty (but definitely not as pretty as Hawaii).

Please tell me that the actual vacation was great (minus the flights)?

Great is a strong word. Don't get me wrong, I like DH's family, but this was a family vacation with like 15 other people from his family. It was enjoyable, but it's hard to please and fit in what that many people want to do in 10 days.

I went to Oahu right after I graduated and then we honeymooned in Maui! I wanna visit ALL the islands!
I liked Maui WAY better!
Wizard of Oz...that effin movie....it's EVERYWHERE!!
GET OVER IT, PEOPLE!
although I still can't help but say "we're not in Kansas anymore" when we travel ::shakes head::
Kathy I would gladly go to Kansas! I haven't been many places and would love to travel and see the states!
You have a spare bedroom?!
Really? I think a Disney cruise is an awesome idea! That sucks that he is strongly opposed. Keep working on him!
But Kansas is probably one of the most famous states in the world now Kathy! Kind of like Forks, WA with this Twilight frenzy!!!
I agree -- a disney cruise would be awesome with kids. Perhaps there is a SAL cruise in our futures!
I really want to go to Maui!!

If you want to head to Sterling, I have parents who have a house who would maybe cook you breakfast. Bed and Breakfast in Sterling?

Are they good cooks?
