Anybody had this happen?

When we got the fert report, they said 9 eggs fertilized.  They transferred 2 embroys.  I got a letter in the mail saying that they froze 5 embryos.  Uhm...  what happened to my other 2?   The office is closed..  Is it possible they 'died' in the freezing process... Or just a typo..  I hope it's a typo!!!

    hasn't happened to me, but it is not uncommon for an embroy to stop growing.  Those embryos are not frozen.

    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d

    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d
    FET#1 3/2/12 - 2 blasts =BFP!! EDD 11/18/12, us#1 = twins! Confirmed m/c 5w6d
    4/20-surprise BFP and another c/p 4w2d
    FET#2 7/16/12 - 2 blasts = BFN
    FET#3 8/20/12 - 1 blast - BFP!! Beta #1-2=177, 354
    1st u/s 5w6d, one beautiful little HB :), 2nd u/s 146bpm
    baby girl born 5/10/13

    TTC#2 since 12/17/2014, Cycle 8
    Repeat Testing...FSH=12, AMH=3.8, AFC=28. 
    IUI#5 5/10/15- c/p?
    IVF#2 8/19/15 - cancelled due to cysts
    IVF#2 take two 10/2015 - 5 blasts frozen
    FET#4 12/11/2015 - BFN - 4 blasts remaining
    FET#5 2/18/16 - BFP!!!  Beta1-3, 126, 250, 745!!

    None of my embryos have ever made it to freeze.  They will either arrest or may not be a good enough quality to freeze.  Congrats on the 5 that is great news and you should be happy. Smile
    I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
    3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
    Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
    PAIF/SAIF always welcome

    5 is awesome to freeze! We had zero. 

    Your other 2 probably stopped developing. Be appreciative for having anything!

    We had 8 embies to start. On my d5 transfer 4 of them were starting to degenerate so they didnt freeze them.  You are off to a great start with 5 in the freezer.  We only had 3 after my fresh transfer .

    More likely that the other 2 didn't make it to freeze.  I had 5 leftover and only 3 made it to freeze.

    It is very possible that the other two didn't make it to freeze.  Five frozen is fantastic!  Our last cycle none of our six left over made it to freeze.

    5 is great!! Look at it this way - it's extra insurance of never having to stim ever again! I know that's certainly what I'm hoping for!!
    Me: 31, Dx: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, Elevated AMH of 18 DH: 34 & borderline morphology issues IUI#1/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = Mild OHSS & BFN IUI#2/cycle with Menopur & Novarel = BFN IVF#1 converted to FET due to moderate OHSS 21 eggs retrieved, 12 mature, 11 fertilized 7 frosties, 6 genetically normal December 5th FET with one perfect blast = BFN FET #2 = early February

    I haven't made it to the freezing stage, but five sounds phenomenal. My clinic freezes at day six and they are so strict that only 1/3 of fresh cycles make it that far. Congrats on having such a wonderful report!

    I didn't know there were growth requirements or anything for freezing.. I thought they all got frozen regardless, thanks for clearing that up ladies.
