So I had been going for weekly b/w results because of my molar pregnancy. Anway, I got my b/w results yesterday and my HCG levels were down to 5. Now I just have to go for monthly b/w. At my last visit with my OB he said that I have to TTA until my b/w comes back negative for 6 consecutive months. ugh, that sure is a long freaking time

I plan to go speak with him b/c I've been doing some research, with the help of a fellow bumpie, and I've found some studies showing that it's not necessary to wait that long. I know doctors always try to err on the side of caution but I'm just not feeling that cautious and there is always that patience problem I mentioned...

I'm so glad your levels are going down so well! I know just what you mean about having patience. My doctor is one of the ones who errs on the side of caution too and recommended I wait three months. It can imagine what your going through waiting six. If you've done research and feel comfortable, then I think you should talk with your doctor and do what feels right for you. Hopefully, you guys can come up with a good solution.

I am glad your levels are going down nicely. My OB is one of the cautious ones too. I have not had a molar pregnancy, but six months does seem like a long time to wait. Good luck.

After my molar pregnancy I did a lot of research too, and was pointed in the direction of Dr Goldstein at Bringham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He is one of the top researchers and runs a molar pregnancy clinic. According to his research, I'd your hcg reaches zero (well,
I have to say, I know 6 months sounds like torture, but it isn't that much different than 3 months. We got cleared for a 3 month wait time, but in month 4 (when we were going to try), we discovered some new issues that we had to work through. I may not even be able to try in month 5, because my RE wants to do more testing.
I would say though, no matter what wait you get, take the time to learn about your cycle. Chart to track ovulation. Make sure you are getting/staying healthy, see an RE or do some more in depth testing of you desire. Use the forced break to your advantage.
