My company annoys me when I'm BFing.  I'm to the point now where I'd just get the baby and go nurse in another room regadless of how rude it seems.  Too me it's rude to just sit there after the new mom tells you baby needs to nurse.  It seems someone's always ringing the bell right at feeding time, which is possible because that's at least every 2 hours.  I have actually ignored people at the door twice when I was home alone and nursing!  Am I the only grumpy BFer who doesn't care much for visitors?

    Depending on the crowd, I will BF with a cover with others in the room, go to another room, or pump and feed.,

    I will say it was stressful to me the first week or so of breastfeeding when we had so many visitors, but once I got used to nursing in front of them with the cover on I was fine. If they are uncomfortable, whatever. I have to feed my baby.

    It was weird when the IL were here, but FIL was good about leaving the room.  I don't even use a cover when we have female visitors.  I don't give a damn, I'm in my own house and I'll feed my kid when he needs to eat.  Smile

    I tend not to be a fan of visitors in general so I use nursing as an excuse to leave the room for some quiet/alone time.  I let DH entertain.

    i hate using a cover because i can't see LO to make sure she's latched and swallowing well. if the company is female i just ask if they mind that i let it all hang out (so far they don't) it's not uncomfortable for me at all. the only male i've had over during feeding time is a very close family friend and he just sits where his back is to me until i give the all clear. i wouldn't feel rude about going into another room if need be, especially in your own house.

    I hate using a cover at home.  If it's my friends or family over, I just nurse wherever we are - I don't usually ask first.  I figure it's my house.  If it's DH's friends or family - I'll leave the room usually, more to get a break, especially from the ILs. 

     The thing I hate is when people are over and want to hold LO - and I have to pry her away at feeding times.  This happens a lot with MIL.  I swear, she will sit there are hold LO all day and insist that she is never hungry.  And she gets upset with me when I take her after it's been 3 hours without nursing!
