I'm still BF-ing my 17 month old and plan to nurse this LO as well for at least a year. I'm not sure if I'll make it as long with #2 because it might be a little more difficult with a toddler to chase around.
I am planning on breastfeeding. Its a more economical approach, but its also very very healthy for the baby and breastmilk is broken down much easier by baby's than formula is.
With my first I breastfed and pumped exclusively (while in school and working) for the first 6 months and then added in formula after that because it was way too much work with so much going on.
With this LO I will be done with school, so I plan to exclusively breastfeed. I definitely have no problems with formula as needed though.
I definitely plan on breastfeeding. I had latch issues with my first, and I ended up pumping for him for 10 long months (which you can totally fit in with working full-time). My second son I went totally the other way and ended up breastfeeding until he was nearly 2 (and pumped at work until he was 1). I never really pegged myself as someone who would do that, but it was the right decision for us. I'll definitely breastfeed the babies, provided I can. It was a really special bonding moment with them for me, and I'm planning to SAH as well so should help reduce pumping time!
I plan on breastfeeding if possible and pumping at work. Luckily I have a pumping room on my floor but it's shared with the whole building and everyone seems to just be pregnant.
The line I highlighted above isn't a fair thing to say. Not everyone works in an office setting that is conductive to pumping. Some people work in factories, in restaurants, etc and can't just go to a pumping room. Some people don't have that luxury!
I had 15 min breaks and did it standing in a grimmybathroom it can be done if you really want to I just made sure not to touch anything

My first I BF till 13 months. Olive I made it two weeks. I was just too tired and anytime I would try to nurse DD1 would freak out on me and I couldn't deal with it. It sucked because I was producing a ton and with DD1 I deal with low supply. But I pumped a 2 month stash but we switched to formula before we even used up that up though. She has a sensitive tummy and has to be on sensitive formula. This baby I will try BF but if it doesn't work out we'll switch to formula.
I plan on exclusively pumping if i have the supply. no actual breast feeding though. i'm uncommonly sensitive and not in the good get you aroused kind of way. dh thought i had something wrong when we first met. i do not mind my breast as a whole being touched but even think about touching the nipple and its a very good way to get smacked. now, that i'm pregnant i have to wear a bra at all times because a t-shirt or the sheets loosly rubbing against me hurts. i'm afraid trying to breastfeed will cause resentment and i'd rather just hate a machine.
I am also very sensitive in that way and let me tell you the first 6 months nursing my daughter were HELL. But it is sooo easy now. I do not pump because that actually hurt me more. Just keep in mind that nursing (once the initial horribleness is over) is much more comfortable than pumping (IMO). I am very comfortable nursing now, but will not touch a pump.

I'm going to try and breastfeed for about 6 mos. if all goes well. I feel like so many mothers I know said it just wouldn't work for them so that worries me some.
I breastfeed DD for 5 months and I plan to go at least that long again. Hoping I don't have as much trouble with clogged ducts and last time, that was so painful.

Definitely plan on BFing. I'm still BFing my 14 month old now. Aside from the health benefits, it's great bonding, and saves a lot of money on formula. Also, I think it's easier b/c I don't have to wash bottles, or make sure I pack bottles when going out.
Just wondering - is there any reason you wouldn't want to nurse for the first 6 weeks you are home?
No judgements here but you could always try pumping and bottle feeding breast milk.
I'm going to try my hardest to breastfeed. Not only for the benefits of it but also the money! Formula is SOO expensive.
Me too, for these reasons plus I do not believe there is a good vegan formula out there and I don't want to feed LO animal products. Unless the animal is me, of course. :-)
Agree. Breast all the way. But I know it hasn't worked out for a few ppl I know (low supply, latching issues) so I realize not everyone can do it.
For the first three months I will be breastfeeding. I am bipolar so the fact that I go off my meds for my pregnancy and then the first three months is very difficult for me. I'm willing to do it to help out my little guy/gal.
I EP'd my son, he was in the NICU and unable to nurse for the first week. We spent the next month trying to re-establish but no go. After EPing for 6months I was done. I will not do that again. Hopefully breastfeeding will work but if not we're going to formula, I will pump at work but no EPing.
I'm still nursing DS, who is 14 months, through latch issues, thrush, tongue tie and multiple food sensitivities. I also worked retail w/o a specific pumping area and rotated through 5 different spots (ranging from various offices to storage rooms) in order to pump, plus had a hindmilk/foremilk imbalance.
Without a doubt, I'll be nursing the next one too.
Nursed without dairy, egg, soy, peanut, treenut, fish, shellfish or beef for over a year.
Currently tandem nursing dairy, egg, and shellfish free.
DS born via emergency c/s after 20 hrs of labor. DD successful VBAC!
I plan on breastfeeding. Thankfully there are a lot of women who I can contact for support/help who have done it or are going to do it before me.
I'm also glad I've read a lot about what can happen or what issues may arise when it comes to breastfeeding; makes me much more realistic about how things can go so I don't become resentful/overwhelmed if my plan changes.

BF. I still BF my DD and will do so for a while. I'm guessing she will wean pretty soon though since she has already dropped 2 sessions. I hear it can be tough the 2nd tri to continue to BF. I am going to stop pumping at work (2 times a day) in 2 weeks. She is in daycare 3 days a week and won't get bottles there in a few weeks, but I plan to nurse her at home when she wants.
I plan on breastfeeding if I can, but I won't feel bad about using formula if I have to.
My good friend just had a baby last month and was HARD CORE about the b00b; she preached to anyone who would listen. Her milk didn't come in and she had to FF. She feels badly now for preaching and making a big deal of it.
Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. My husband was 100% FF and he's the healthiest person I know. We shall see

I plan to breastfeed while I am home on maternity leave and then take pumping as it comes when I go back to work (full-time). I killed myself working FT and pumping for 9 months with my son, and I am determined to not stress myself out so badly again over something that, in the end, will not matter.
I'm on the fence honestly. I BF ds but dealt with clogged ducts and massive pain (9 years ago and I still remember that pain!). He went to formula at 6 months. DH has an issue with BF'g (DS is his stepson) and really is pushing for formula. So, we'll see. I have a while to think about all the options. I don't feel that either way makes me a better/worse mom. I definitely feel that formula has come a long way and I know many many kids (DH included) who were formula babies and turned out just fine...

I BFed DS until he reached a year (he self-weaned). I would love to do the same for this one, but I am not going to stress myself the eff out over it like I did last time.

I will more than likely pump for the first few weeks, especially, if they are preterm like my last two. Then I'm switching to formula feeding all the way.
Even after pregnancy I have milk. I've had it for going on five years now, so unless I NEED to I don't want to stimulate it to keep producing. I would really like it to dry up.
I planned to breastfeed with my first but my boobs and DS had other plans. I ended up EPing for the better part of FIVE months. It's so much harder that way (i.e. baby sleeped through the night at 6 weeks but I was still waking to pump 1-2 times per night). I'll try to breastfeed this time, but I def won't stress/obsess about it like I did last time if it doesn't work out because that certaintly wasn't healthy for me or my baby.

I agree with some of the PP...Bfing is SOOOOO much cheaper and it really doesn't take much time out of your day if you pump and bottle feed..
anywhoo...I am a pumper/breastfeeder..I did it with DS so it is kinda old hat to me.

Same here...except DS self-weaned at 11 months. I hope to go longer this time even past 1 year if it works for the baby.
I definitely HOPE I can breastfeed...but we'll see how it goes!

Nurse for probably 6 months then to formula. I liked nursing my son but I was also SO excited to get my body back after pregnancy and nursing.
