Has anyone taken antidepressants in previous pregnancies?

Hi!  I took an antidepressant (Luvox) during my first pregnancy and we are making plans to TTC #2.  I was closely monitored by a psychiatrist in Atlanta who specialized in treating women with depression before, during and after pregnancy and was told that the antidepressant was perfectly safe, but now I'm reading more recent updates about the subject and it sounds like there is more doubt.  Honestly, I don't think I can even TTC if I can't take antidepressants because my depression is so bad without them.  Our son is showing some signs of OCD and ADD and we are having him tested extensively right now.  I've always wondered if any of the medications I was approved to take would cause some kind of problem for him and the thought of that just kills me -- that I could have prevented it.  I guess all of this rambling is just to ask what your experiences have been, what your doctors have told you, etc.  Thanks in advance!

    I took Zoloft during my entire pregnancy with TLF. My dr told me that the current research is showing that there are not problems (these are studies currently underway). 

     

     

    As for the issues with your son, those aren't the issues that I've heard that can potentially occur.  I would talk to your psychiatrist about it - both for the actual risk and the blame you're placing on yourself.
